Who we are
ValanBot is the data-collection agent of Valan Technologies Limited (CRO 802395), Ashford, County Wicklow, Ireland. Valan builds procurement-intelligence datasets from records that public bodies publish under transparency and open-data rules.

During September 2026 we are moving all of our collection onto this single identity. If you see requests under an older Valan identifier such as Valan-Scraper/1.0, they are ours too, and everything on this page applies to them. We do not pose as another crawler, and we do not use proxy networks to hide where our requests come from.
What we collect
Public procurement records: tenders, contract awards and related notices published by governments, public bodies and international institutions.
Official channels first
Where a publisher offers its data for reuse through a channel of its own — an open-data API, a bulk or daily file, an OCDS feed — we use that channel, under the licence the publisher states, and we carry the attribution the licence asks for. We download what the publisher publishes for reuse; we do not crawl the rest of the site.
Personal data
We collect records about organisations. We do not seek personal data, and personal data that appears incidentally in source records is removed before anything is delivered to a client. See our privacy policy.
How we behave
Where we read public web pages rather than a published feed, our policy is to follow robots.txt (RFC 9309): pages a site disallows are not scraped. Where a site disallows crawling and offers no reuse channel, we stop collecting from it.
We honour a published Crawl-delay; where none is published we pause between requests. We respect published fair-usage limits.
We do not log in, bypass access controls or solve CAPTCHAs. If you block us, we stop — and, where it makes sense, we will ask you whether there is a channel you would prefer us to use.

Publish a Crawl-delay in your robots.txt, or tell us the rate you prefer.
To stop us
Email us and we will stop. You can also add a rule for User-agent: ValanBot with Disallow: / to your robots.txt.
To point us to a better channel
If you publish an API, bulk file or feed that you would rather we used, tell us and we will switch to it.
To check a request was really us
Email us the time, the URL and the IP address you saw, and we will confirm whether it was ours.
